Richard Angell – Director
Richard Angell is the director of Progress. He is the founder of Labour’s three seats challenge (#Lab3seats) and has run marginal seat campaigns for the UK Labour party, and its sister party, Australian Labor. He is elected to the TUC’s LGBT committee.
He is a former trade union official for Community Union and worked for the All Party Parliamentary Group on Combatting Antisemitism. He served on Labour’s National Policy Forum (2010-15), as secretary of LGBT Labour (2008-11) and chair of Young Labour (2007-09).

Stephanie Lloyd – Deputy Director
Stephanie joins Progress in December 2017 from a senior role as community manager at the recruitment firm Twenty. She is the treasurer of LGBT Labour.
She was policy and campaigns officer of the Suzy Lamplugh Trust – the largest personal safety charity in the UK, is a former president of NUS Wales and co-leader of the Labour Students on the NUS national executive

Conor Pope – Deputy Editor
Conor joined Progress as deputy editor in November 2016, having previously worked as the senior reporter at LabourList. He has considerable experience as a lobby journalist, in political campaigning and as a Labour activist.

Sam Bright – Digital Editor
Sam joined Progress in January 2018 after spending two years at the BBC. Among other roles, he worked as a political reporter for the BBC World Service and as a digital editor at BBC Wales. He is the founder of the political blog Backbench.

Matthew Doyle is an associate at Progress focusing on stakeholder relations and strategic communications. He is a director of a strategic communications consultancy.
He is a previous political director for former prime minister Tony Blair, was special advisor at the Department for Work and Pensions and 10 Downing Street from 2005-o7 and before that a career in the Labour party press office.
